IndTech Brokerage Event 2025: Empowering Young Researchers to Secure EU Funding
On April 1st, the IndTech Graduate School hosted a brokerage event, bringing together PhD students, researchers, and industry professionals to explore new research collaborations for Horizon Europe funding proposals.
The event opened with a guest lecture by Malin Rosqvist (RISE) on “The Fine Art of Building a Project Consortium during a European Brokerage Event.” Malin delivered an insightful session on how to form strong partnerships during brokerage events, emphasizing the importance of strategic networking and effectively presenting project ideas to attract the right collaborators.
A key part of the event was the presentation of research proposals by IndTech PhD students. Each group introduced their innovative ideas, tackling major challenges in various fields:
- NextGenCEA – Advancing controlled environment agriculture
- ReIWES – Improving reliability in wind energy systems
- CEG-AI – Trustworthy AI in cloud, edge & IoT applications
- CL4-INDUSTRY – Cognitive augmentation in advanced manufacturing
The pitches led to engaging discussions and valuable feedback, paving the way for future collaborations.
Participants actively engaged in matchmaking and networking sessions, connecting with potential partners, discussing research synergies, and exploring funding opportunities. These sessions played a crucial role in strengthening ties between academia and industry.
The day concluded with an inspiring guest lecture by Professor Hans Hansson, “Get Funding or Die – The Secrets of Writing a Successful Funding Application.” His session provided practical insights into crafting strong proposals and maximizing the chances of securing European research funding.
This event was just the beginning! The next step is to transform these ideas into concrete research projects and funding applications. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting collaborations!
A huge thank you to all participants, speakers, and organizers for making this event a success.
